STEPS / IMPORTANT POINTS

FOR ORGANISING SCHOOL to SCHOOL CAMPAIGN

  • Ideal time - Anytime.. the fact remains that we are asking for wastage which people have plenty. Especially soon after the present session is over and the next starts as most of the students discard their old uniforms, stationery, water bottles etc. or the time when they change to winter/summer clothing after the break. But it’s an ongoing exercise as they keep discarding a lot of material in the middle of the session also. We have to look for the events in the schools with which we can motivate them to participate like Independence day, teacher’s day, festivals, school day etc..

  • In the starting of new session it works very well as parents are motivated to bring their old stuff when they come to buy new. They find it very convenient as right outside the shop in the school premises they find GOONJ collection boxes.

  • Awareness - There are various ways of spreading awareness. We address assemblies, put up awareness exhibitions, participate in PTMs. There are informative leaflets, which we give to every child through the school. School kids are motivated to develop posters and address students. Ex students are motivated to go back to their schools and talk about it..

  • Communication material - All the publicity material like Posters, Banners or a small leaflets will be given atleast a week before so that students will be well informed about the event and can properly participate as well.

  • Transport - As GOONJ.. doesn’t have any financial support, we would appreciate if school can take care of transportation of material to our store at Sarita Vihar. In case of any problem GOONJ.. will take responsibility of this also.

  • Financial - We don’t ask for big cash donations but we motivate children just to give one to five rupee a month (optional not mandatory). This way we’ll not only be able to have some money for the expenses on collection, sorting, packing & distribution but we’ll be able to spread our work in many more schools. You can install GOONJ donation boxes and motivate kids to put coins on a regular interval or on some special days like Birthday etc..

  • Newspaper day (NPD) : As one of the steps towards making this programme a self-sufficient programme, we are working on the concept of Newspaper day. The idea is to mark a day every month in every school where the students are asked to bring atleast five old newspapers or magazine from home. By the sheer strength of school this can generate a substantial amount to partly fund this project.

  • Feedback - SCHOOL to SCHOOL is a concept of building up relationships, instead of just collecting the material. To maintain this and making it more stronger GOONJ.. will provide you details of the beneficiary schools and their students along with relevant photographs after the distribution.
This will help a student, parents and the school to understand that what and how much difference have they been able to make and how can they support them in future also.
