Dear Friends,

PRATIBIMB is round the corner. Scheduled from 20th till 24th Arpil'08,‘Pratibimb’- is a fusion of urban rural culture, which brings together children from diverse cultures, for a one to one interaction and knowledge exchange. It is a very special occasion, which offers a unique experience to everyone involved. Over 300 school children from Kashmir, Bihar, UP, West Bengal, Tamilnadu & Assam along with kids from various urban schools will be coming together in the capital for five days. For many of you wanting to participate in this experience, here is a list of some ground level activities.

• TASK; Giving a colourful ambience to the community center and the interaction hall.
  Your role: bring your creativity and your enthusiasm and off course your time out on Sunday (20th). Making colouful cutouts, drawings, making things out of recycled material etc.. We will provide the rest i.e colours, crayons, chart papers etc. Designing publicity material- posters, leaflets, banners, name tags, registration sheet etc.( in Hindi, English, Tamil, Assamese, Orriya)

  
  
• TASK; documenting the details about the participating groups life back in their villages. This will include their present circumstances, difficulties they face in their day to day life and at school, understanding their PRATIBIMB experience and reactions etc.
  Your role: For the duration of their stay one volunteer will spend a lot of time closely interacting with one or two rural groups (average size of group- 10-12 kids with 1-2 supervisors). The volunteer will be given broad briefing and indicators to work on, you will also work with the rural group and make an introductory presentation about them on the their day to the rest of the audience which would include more than 300 people including urban, rural kids, teachers, dignitaries. Bring your curiosity, your presentation skills and lots of spare time.
  "PRATIBIMB"

• TASK: Fun and educational visits for rural kids for the three evenings they stay with us, to places like museums, children’s park India Gate etc to give them a bit of exposure to Delhi, a dream for most of them.
  Your Role: take the lead in becoming the guides for these kids; make their visit informative and entertaining. The visits will be from 3.00 pm to around 7.30 pm on 21, 22 and 23rd evening.
  
  
• TASK; Since the rural kids will be coming from different parts of the country, familiar only with their own language. They will need help in understanding and participating in the interaction with urban kids as well as kids from other states.
  Your role; if you have good command over some languages like - Tamil, Orriya, Bangla etc, you could translate for us.
  
  
• TASK; in the evenings, before dinner we plan to have some fun games and music to entertain the rural kids.
  Your role: bring out the child in you, come and play with kids from all over India. Prepare & share with us some easy to do fun games.
